"A Special Place"
Pittsburgh, PA

Appropriately named "A Special Place", the outdoor garden was designed to pay tribute to organ and tissue donors. With its tracing of branches in terrazzo, "The Tree of Life" memorial, built within the garden, has more than 5,000 engraved leaves, each representing an individual. The memorial's inscription reads - Let the leaves symbolize the donors, like softly fallen petals that nourish the earth, they have touched the lives of others.

The memorial and garden have not only a place of significance for visitors but for CORE employees themselves, who can view it through their building's large windows.
