Creek House
Loyalhanna, PA
Size: 500 square feet
Services: Architecture
The Owners wanted to create an entertainment and family recreation site in a private, sheltered area of their property, which is on the Loyalhanna Creek. The stream bends at the location and has scoured out a swimming hole that is part of the composition.
The architect designed, timber structure was assembled using traditional peg and dowel joinery. The masonry fireplace mass contains a Rumford fireplace and lockable barbeque and kitchenette facilities. Screening provides protection during the occasional insect periods along the stream.
