Facade and visibility concepts were developed in interrelated components. The first consideration was to create a sense of identity and visibility to the garage. Studies addressed approaches that used signage, color and lighting in various forms to attract attention to the building with a particular focus given to evening usage. Large two-sided “PARK” signs are anticipated over each entry pending required approval from City Planning.
Monumental architectural up-lighting washing a newly conceived building face and the form and location of a spiral ramp system are intended to be highlighted by removing adjacent concrete panels and providing internal lighting designed to articulate the helical form.
