Projects ranging from 3,000-40,000 square feet - Interior architecture, engineering coordination and construction administration for world headquarters facility
FreeMarkets' world headquarters, housed on several floors of a
downtown office tower, provided the opportunity to design and develop a facility supportive of the high-energy internet business culture.
The project goal was to develop an infrastructure to grow and to sustain the business while planning spaces that are efficient and flexible. The architecture needed to respond to hyper-growth while maintaining global connections.
It was necessary to design a space that reflects the defined set of core values which guide all FreeMarkets employees in their daily activities. Teaming and training areas are located throughout the space, supporting the "company university" as well as frequent collaboration between employees. Due to the global nature of the business, the space had to translate into different cultures, both corporate and human.
